Key Points
Bitcoin. It’s the cryptocurrency that inspired the birth of our entire industry 16 years ago. It has since become a beacon of economic freedom for users around the world. Today, WBTC went LIVE on Katana and brought our movements closer together. Here’s what’s happening:
WBTC is an ERC-20 token backed 1:1 with Bitcoin, which means 1 WBTC = 1 BTC. It allows anyone with a Ronin Wallet to hold or trade BTC – without the need to access any centralized exchanges. It also opens new portals between the Ronin and Bitcoin ecosystems. Today, most of Bitcoin’s trading volume takes place on centralized exchanges. WBTC on Ronin supports Bitcoin’s further decentralization.
WBTC on Ronin is backed 1:1 with WBTC on Ethereum, and the initial liquidity for the WBTC/RON pool has been supplied.
Total Supply: 21 million BTC
Circulating Supply: 153K WBTC
Initial liquidity for WBTC has been supplied on Ronin. However, anyone can add liquidity to earn rewards. Here’s how you can get started:
Step 1: Go to the Katana DEX
Step 2: Connect your Ronin Wallet.
Step 3: Click “Add Liquidity.”
Step 4: Select WBTC and RON as tokens.
Step 5: Choose “Supply” and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
You will then be able to see your pool share, accrued fees, and analytics.

Note on Impermanent Loss: Providing liquidity involves risks including impermanent loss, especially if asset prices change significantly. We encourage you to assess your risk tolerance before participating.
The Katana DEX launched about three years ago. There were four tokens available at the time: AXS, SLP, USDC, and WETH. This year, we’ve seen a flurry of tokens go LIVE on Katana from $PIXEL to $WBTC. Let’s keep pushing!
