More than a Marketplace
Mavis Market is more than a marketplace: it’s key to enabling infinite experiences on Ronin. In March, we shared our vision to become every gamer’s go-to blockchain when we announced partnerships with Directive Games, Tribes Studio, Bali Games, SkyVu, and Bowled.io. Today, we’re taking the next step towards giving these builders– and others – the tools they need to give life to the best blockchain gaming experiences. The Mavis Market is a crucial piece of infrastructure that enables monetization for Web 3 games through both primary sales and secondary market activity. In the future, we envision Mavis Market becoming a coveted launchpad for game studios and their associated NFT collections.
For now, we will take a curated approach to listing NFTs on the Mavis Market – ensuring that projects we highlight live up the noble ideals of this global movement.
RON Is Money
On Mavis Market, listings will appear in RON and you’ll be able to buy NFTs with any token available on Ronin including AXS, WETH, USDC, and RON. The Katana DEX will perform any necessary swaps through the backend for a simple and intuitive trading experience. Axie NFTs from Sky Mavis will continue to be listed on App.axie.
Fee and Royalty Structure
We designed the Mavis Marketplace Fee Structure to align incentives between creators, Sky Mavis, and the Ronin network. That’s why creators can set their own fee percentages for their work while Sky Mavis receives a fixed fee for building and maintaining the marketplace. These splits will allow us to develop the best marketplace possible for as many users as possible. We’ll explain the .5% fee for the Ronin network below.
In the big picture, Ronin’s .5% fee rewards the owners of the network – RON holders, stakers, and validators. Similar to the Katana protocol fee, these fees will go directly to the Ronin Treasury.
This is the first time that a Blockchain will receive a portion of an NFT marketplace fee: it’s the equivalent of an NFT marketplace on Ethereum giving a portion of its fee to Ethereum itself!
RON is now accruing value from:
- Utility as payment for gas
- Staking rewards
- Ownership of Katana dex’s .05% fee
- Mavis Market’s .5% fee
We’ve made this precedent-setting decision because we believe in aligning incentives between decentralized applications and the protocols they build on.
Let’s talk about Creator royalties.
On many chains we’re seeing a race to the bottom and the inability to enforce royalties for NFT creators. This has become an obstacle to sustainability for many NFT projects.
With the launch of Mavis Market on Ronin, Creator royalties can now be ensured and guaranteed at the protocol level. This works because contract deployment on Ronin requires whitelist access, preventing mercenary marketplaces from deploying and eliminating minimum royalties for builders.
Ronin’s protocol-enforced royalty serves in sharp contrast to the royalty wars and fee race to the bottom that we’ve observed on other chains.

Axie DoLL Sidekicks
Axie DoLL: Defenders of Lunacian Land launched in December of 2022 from our Axie Builder’s Program and became an instant hit with the Axie community. It’s an exhilarating survival action game that’s easy to play yet hard to master. Starting today, you’ll be able to buy and sell Axie DoLL Sidekicks on Mavis Market! These little buddies are cosmetic-only for now, and have varying rarities. 80% of the funds raised will go to the Axie DoLL team while 20% will go to the winners of Axie DoLL’s Gen2 Sidekick Football Cup!

AxieChat is a podcast about the Axie universe launched by prominent and influential community member Baronar in 2020.
