Introducing the Kotaro Hardfork

The Kotaro hard fork is part of the Feather Fan Upgrade. It incorporates all EIPs in the execution client from Ethereum’s Pectra hard fork, aligning Ronin with Ethereum’s latest advancements – including EIP-7702. 

EIP-7702 makes significant improvements to wallet functionality and user experience possible. It allows externally-owned accounts (EOAs) to temporarily behave like smart contracts, enabling advanced features that were only possible through contract wallets before.

That means wallets on Ronin now have the ability to support more sophisticated operations. Think batched transactions, automated re-staking, subscription-based payments, and more. These new features benefit both users and builders, opening the door for new kinds of dApps on Ronin.
