Gadget-Bot, the production studio behind the Kaidro IP, will build a story-driven, multiplayer action RPG called Kaidro. We’re excited to welcome them to our movement! Here’s what’s coming to Ronin:
What is Kaidro?
Kaidro: An old K'ailantian word meaning "source bearer". Those who wield a relic become a Kaidro, gifted with the unmatched ability to conjure energy from the Astral Realm into the physical world of Tal'jor.
Kaidro began as a digital comic on the popular South Korean platform Webtoons. The story begins with Kaidro: The Awakening, and follows 18 year-old Ava – a contractor on a mining vessel from the planet Tal’jor. Ava is plagued by dreams of her past from another reality, and soon discovers her destiny… to save humanity from destruction.
In a society torn between technology and spirituality, Kaidro draws from mecha anime and science fiction. There's something for everyone: the intricate storytelling of Gundam, the expansive universe of Star Wars, and the coming-of-age adventures like Avatar: The Last Bender. Neon Genesis Evangelion's influence deepens the allure with complex narratives and dark themes, appealing to enthusiasts of the genre.
Bringing Tal’jor to Ronin
Since 2021, Ronin has been on a mission to spread digital property rights to users of the internet – starting with gamers. Our partnership with Kaidro and Gadget-Bot will soon introduce the Ronin ecosystem to the passionate Kaidro community, and carry the Ronin movement across new frontiers. Webcomics. Anime. Multimedia… and games.
The Gadget-Bot team is launching a Web3 Kaidro game exclusively on Ronin. Kaidro will be a story-driven, multiplayer action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world wherein a mech-wielding faction battles against powerful magic users. The game will combine PvP, PvE, and broader questing mechanics, in which three teams of three players each must achieve various objectives on maps while fighting off enemy teams.

Meet Gadget-Bot and the Creators Behind Kaidro
Gadget-Bot Productions is the studio behind the Kaidro universe established by Peggy Chung and Robert Simons. On their own, the two founders have worked on blockbuster projects including Jurassic World, Transformers, Call of Duty, and more. They’ve also collaborated with Tim Hedrick – writer for Avatar: The Last Airbender – to put together the latest Kaidro trailer and an animated TV series. The music for that trailer is a creation of the globally acclaimed duo Odesza, renowned for their electronic music featured in Game of Thrones and the Divergent series.
